With more than ten years of music under his belt, Nova Scotian nerdcore rapper and new jack swing aficionado Vadell Gabriel has been acclaimed as both an emcee and a producer, being featured in The Coast and The Word Is Bond, and was quoted by hip-hop historian and musician Michael “Hermitofthewoods” McGuire as one of his favourite producers. Known for his Teddy Riley and Yuzo Koshiro influenced style, Gabriel took a sabbatical for most of 2019, barring a “best of” release for his Timbits albums and 4 new singles, but continued working on new music behind the scenes, curating and mixing music for video games, and was nominated for The Coast’s “Best of Halifax” award for his hip hop radio show Pyrate Radio on CKDU-FM, alongside his frequent collaborator Yangsta.
